PROTOCOL
FORMAT FOR INTRODUCTIONS
HOST DISTRICT DEPUTY MAJOR DEGREE
Upon conclusion of the Advanced Degree,
the Host District Deputy is encouraged to use the following
format:
- Introduce the Third Degree Coordinator
who will Introduce the Third Degree Staff and Second
Degree Staff (if different from the Third Degree Staff)
- Introduce the First Degree Staff
(if not already introduced after the First Degree)
- Introduce all dignitaries and V.I.P.s
in attendance using the following format:
- Introduce all clergy in attendance. If any clergy
is a new member allow him to give impression of
Degree.
- Ask All Grand Knights to stand in their place
and introduce themselves and the Councils they represent.
- Have District Deputies and Faithful Navigators
do the same.
- Introduce selected and elected State Officers
and have them stand (these include coordinators,
directors, Past State Deputies, etc).
- Introduce Master, if present. (It is appropriate
to encourage membership in 4th Degree, but only
brief comments should be made. Do not pass out literature
at this time; do this at the meal following the
degree.)
- Introduce the insurance representatives and allow
them time for their comments.
- Introduce highest State Officer in attendance
or assigned State representative and allow him to
address the group.
- Introduce Host Grand Knight who will inform everyone
on the program planned such as dinner arrangements,
travel back to local Council chambers, etc.
- Have clergy close meeting with a prayer.
Note:
Degree Staff generally partakes of the meal first, affording
them ample time to return home. However, the CO must
complete a Critique of Degree and sometimes this is
done immediately following Degree [HDD should attend
Critique]; do not delay the meal while the critique
is being completed. |
